Rita tried very hard to dissuade them, but to no avail. Her two sons were caught up in the idea of vendetta. Her husband was murdered because of a family rivalry. The power of her prayers eventually transformed her husband into a kind man. Rita was a devout catholic so kept on praying. Her husband was physically abusive and heaped a lot of physical and mental torture on Rita. She wanted to become a nun since childhood but was married off to a man who was very cruel. She was born in 1381 and left for the heavenly abode in 1457. Rita of Cascia is a Saint venerated in the Roman Catholic Church and bestowed the title of Patroness for impossible causes and hopeless circumstances.
